Women business owners who are accepted into the PowerLink program are granted a select three to seven member Advisory Panel of business volunteers. A typical PowerLink Panel includes a CEO, CPA, COO, human resources specialist, marketing professional, strategic planner and information technology specialist. These professionals serve a one-year term, collectively donating an average of $15,000 in professional consultation fees.

Advisory Panel meetings are held quarterly and facilitated by a professional Advisory Panel Manager who works closely with the business owner to assure successful outcomes. The owner identifies specific company problems which become the focus of meeting discussions. Panel members are encouraged to meet with the owners between quarterly meetings. The business owner has the ability to accept or reject suggestions made by panel members who assume no fiduciary responsibility.

Since its founding in 1991, PowerLink has helped over 170 women expand their businesses. An independent survey commissioned by PowerLink in 2003 indicates that the average revenues of PowerLink companies has increased 89% since their PowerLink year, and the average number of full-time employees has increased 28%. One in three companies surveyed surpassed $1 million dollars in sales after their PowerLink year.
